Simeon Qsyea is a London based film director and choreographer. He is also the co-founder of BirdGang Ltd, which is a theatre and film company. 


Simeon studied Film & Video at Richmond Upon Thames, gained a scholarship at Urdang Academy and graduated from The Place in 2009 with a BA Hons degree. 


Simeon is a director and choreographer who has an expansive career in many parts of the entertainment industry .Highly respected for his vast knowledge of dance and movement, he is recognised for his innovative approach to creative movement in numerous mediums including Music, Fashion, Theatre, Award Shows, Live Events, Television and Film.


Simeon draws experience from his illustrious performance career which has included working with renowned artists such as Ella Eyre, Dizzie Rascal, Will.I.AM, Alexandra Burke, JLS,  Kyan , also award shows including The BAFTA Awards Ceremony, MTV Awards, MOBO Awards, T4 on the Beach and The Brit Awards. 


He has been a Creative and Performance Choreographer on “So You Think You Can Dance?”, as well as having choreographed key commercial campaigns such as Ariel’s 100 dance, JD Sports “Undisputed Christmas” and multi award-winning advert Quiet comfort 35; Get Closerby BOSE, Red bull, Nokia.

Simeon can be seen on screen as an Expert Judge on TV talent show “Taking the Next Step”


Simeon's film career started  with "Shadow Men" a short film with Merce Cunningham, which premiered nationally and internationally. This led to creating several other works that gained him notoriety and recognition at film festivals worldwide, which included "Shade" featuring film star Lamar Johnson and his Ornithology collection (Wingspan, Take Off and Fallen)  


Being an artist who worked in different mediums, Simeon experimented with a conceptual idea of a live theatrical piece that had a film counterpart. This led to the creation of a film campaign in collaboration with Southbank Centre “White Girl / Black Girl & Everything Inbetween which is an adaptation of a theatre show. The play is based on six women and their stories on sex, race and religion in a modern-day setting.


Simeon’s other theatrical work includes collaborations with Lenny Henry at the National Theatre, Dynamo the magician, Cirque Bijou, Bella Kinetic, Cirque el moi, Breaking Convention, SK Shlomo, a Company of Elders amongst a range of theatres worldwide.


​Most recently Simeon worked on “Magnificent Melodic Machine” ( at the O2),  “Pop” (at The Round house) and  directed “Stripped”, a theatre show starring John Partridge.


Simeon produces work that is continually evolving, thought provoking and intelligent. Exploring pure dance and storytelling through narrative themes and musical expression for theatre, film and television.
